Dental Care Program for Children and Adults with Autism
This film is an educational tool used to train dental professionals in the "D-Termined Dental Program of Repetitive Tasking and Familiarization in Dentistry" so that they can provide better dental care to individuals with autism spectrum disorders and other developmental disabilities. Because of their difficulties in communication, heightened sensitivity to, reactivity to, and fear of stimuli in the dental environment, individuals with autism are often unable to receive proper dental care without sedation. The D-Termined Program is a behavior management approach to dentistry which has proven successful in practice with children with developmental disabilities. Comments to this video are open again. 8/26/2012. Video featured in Wired Magazine Stress and how we as humans deal with it is the subject of this video. I believe neurotypical people can sometimes misinterpret an emotion such as stress when viewing the behaviors of autistic people like me and others. Every human experiences stress. Part of our shared experience is the emotion of stress (fight or flight). Whenever we feel we are being judged, we feel stress. Have you ever experienced the stress to perform or live up to an "image" in your life? If so, you have something in common with autistic people. Most people experience stress in their lives to perform under pressure, whether it is in your job or with your spouse or family. Both autistic people and "normal" people experience stress and pressure. However, stress can manifest itself in autistic people in ways that are misunderstood by so called "normal" people. When both autistic and "normal" people experience stress, it often manifests itself physcially in what is psychiatrically called "repetitive behaviors". So called "normal" people exhibit stress with repetitive behaviors just like autistic people. However, their repetitive behaviors are considereed socially "appropriate" and are not subject to judgement. Neurotypical repetitive behaviors are considered "normal" or in the mainstream. No one would consider that they need to be modified or "cured". However, for autistic people, because our stress coping mechanisms are ...

Autism Brain SPECT Part I
This video presents the use of Brain SPECT imaging to analyze the blood flow (ie related to metabolism) of the cerebral cortex in autism. The video is in two parts. Part I is about the experience of doing a SPECT brain imaging with a child with autism and one of his parents. Part II will explain a little more about what is known regarding the functions of cerebral cortex, and the results obtained from this analysis. A little hint to this story In accordance with B Degirmenci et 2008, there were evidence of hypoperfusion in some brain areas, in the left temporal, and parietal cortex in both the autistic child and first-degree relative. This analysis was conducted with the generous support of Cem KINACI MD, Nuclear Medicine Physician, at the Deutsches Krankenhaus-Universal Hospitals Group, in Istanbul - TURKEY. Oh yes, I must apologize to start this video with images and music again- it seems that I cannot stop thinking in such way preferably over other forms of communication. A note regarding the music- this is a piece from Schoenberg: Leith, Zart from Six Little Pieces for Piano Op.19- Played by Glenn Gould- who is thought to have had Asperger. If you listen carefully, you can hear his (famous) chair (-which he always took around with him to play) cracking at 42 sec. A most personal additional signature to his wonderful playing. High Definition Brain SPECT (Single Photon Emission Computed Tomography) is a non invasive procedure which can detect functional changes by ...

Autism speech therapy – Zane 2 years before ASEA
Zane at 3.5 years - "bubbles, please!" Zane was born autistic, I think... I didn't notice any vaccination injury or sudden loss that so many autism parents describe. Zane was just always like that. When Zane was diagnosed with severe autism at age three I made it my life's mission to find help for him - in any form. His progress remains my highest priority. I want him to have every opportunity and I am constantly searching for therapies, meds, homeopathics, nutritional supplements, ANYTHING that will help ease his burdens and move him forward. I started taking movies of him periodically, as a measure to find whether or not the remedies we were trying were doing any good. We are continuing our search and efforts with Zane... some quite successful! And we will be posting our videos of his changes over time and therapies!

Dr Edwards is a Functional Neurologist in Los Angeles. He also has a son with Autism. He discuses how the Kyani products have effected his son.
This video shows our autistic son, age 2-3 before we started the GAPS diet. We've had great success, he is age 4 and he is now fully recovered. (See the next video of James "after GAPS diet".) I'm in the process of publishing "The BrainFood Cookbook" to help other parents who want to heal their children. It is gluten free and sugar free.
